Our Occupational Therapy Services
Key Benefits of Our Occupational Therapy Program
- Improved School Performance: We use research-backed programs like Handwriting Without Tears to build legible handwriting, boost organization, and increase classroom participation. Kids develop the focus and fine motor skills needed for note-taking, homework, and written assignments.
- Enhanced Daily Living Skills: Your child will gain independence in tasks like dressing, eating, and maintaining routines. We teach step-by-step strategies and use real-life practice to help these skills stick.
- Better Sensory Processing: Through Sensory Integration and reflex integration techniques, our therapists help children manage reactions to sounds, textures, and movement. This promotes emotional regulation, sustained attention, and a calmer school day.
- Strengthened Executive Functioning: Tools like visual schedules and executive functioning games support planning, memory, and organization—vital for transitions between classes and activities.
- Developed Social and Emotional Skills: Our therapists incorporate Superflex, a renowned social thinking curriculum, to help children understand social cues, manage emotions, and build meaningful friendships.
- Enhanced Movement and Coordination: Reflex integration exercises, gross motor play, and guided practice support balance, strength, and confidence for both sports and daily routines.
Our Specialized Approaches
We believe that progress happens when proven methods align with your child’s needs and interests. That’s why Eyas Landing integrates the following evidence-based programs and techniques, adapting each to your child’s individual learning style:
- Handwriting Without Tears: Uses multi-sensory teaching to make writing approachable and fun, reducing frustration and building confidence.
- Superflex Social Thinking: Engages children in understanding flexible thinking, self-control, and social problem-solving in a playful, relatable way.
- Reflex Integration: Focuses on gentle movements and activities to address retained reflexes, thereby supporting attention, coordination, and classroom participation.
- Sensory Integration Therapy: Helps children make sense of sensory input, improving comfort with routine school and home experiences.
- Task Analysis and Executive Skills Training: Breaks complex tasks into manageable steps and coaches kids to plan, remember, and complete them successfully.

Why Choose Eyas Landing?
We don’t just treat “speech issues.” We treat the whole child, and we support the whole family. We believe therapy should reduce family stress, not add to it. That’s why flexibility is the foundation of our approach. We meet families where they are—emotionally, developmentally, and physically.

We offer evidence-based interventions in the environment that works best for your child:
- Clinic-Based: Our state-of-the-art facility in Chicago’s West Loop is designed for sensory play and skill-building.

- TeleHealth: Accessible support for adolescents or families needing remote flexibility.
A Multi-Disciplinary Team
Your child isn’t one-dimensional, and their care shouldn’t be either. Our occupational therapists collaborate closely with speech therapists, physical therapists, behavioral therapists (ABA), and social workers. This ensures that every part of your child’s development is supported under one roof.
Family-Centered Care
We partner with your family every step of the way. We don’t just work with your child for an hour and leave; we provide coaching and strategies you can use at home. Your goals become our goals.

Frequently Asked Questions About Occupational Therapy for Kids:
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
In many cases, yes, for insurance purposes. However, you can contact us directly to start the conversation. We can help guide you through the process of getting the necessary paperwork from your pediatrician.
My child has an IEP at school. Can we still do private therapy?
Absolutely. Many families find that school services are helpful but may not offer the 1:1 attention or frequency a child needs to make rapid progress. We often collaborate with school teams to ensure our goals align with their IEP, maximizing your child’s success.
Do you take insurance?
We accept a wide range of insurance plans and also work with families on Early Intervention funding. During your initial consultation, our intake team will verify your benefits so you know exactly what to expect.
What does an initial assessment look like?
A: It is a low-stress, play-based evaluation. We observe how your child moves, plays, and reacts to sensory input. We also spend time talking with you to understand your primary concerns and goals.
