Our Pediatric Counseling Services
Building Confidence and Resilience Through Therapy
Our child therapy services address the root causes of emotional and behavioral challenges, not just the symptoms. We partner with your family to create a safe space where your child can learn, grow, and build confidence. Our specialists are experienced in helping children and adolescents with a range of needs.
The benefits of our approach include:
- Developing Healthy Coping Skills: We teach practical strategies to manage anxiety, frustration, and sadness in constructive ways.
- Improving Communication: Our sessions help children better express their feelings and needs, strengthening family connections.
- Building Social Confidence: We work on developing social skills to help your child build and maintain positive friendships.
- Strengthening Family Bonds: Through family counseling in Chicago, we work with the entire family unit to foster understanding, reduce conflict, and improve dynamics at home.
- Empowering Parents: We provide you with insights and tools to support your child’s progress outside of therapy, making you a key partner in their success.
At Eyas Landing, we know parents have questions about what pediatric counseling really means and who provides it. Counseling is a supportive process that helps children express their feelings, understand challenges, and build essential skills to overcome the obstacles they face every day. With children and teens, our counselors use developmentally appropriate, play-based techniques—like art, storytelling, role play, and interactive games—because play is how kids naturally communicate and process their experiences. Through these playful interactions, children safely explore tough emotions, work through worries, and practice new skills in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful for them.
Pediatric counseling at Eyas Landing is provided by a team of compassionate experts, including social workers, Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPC). Social workers are trained not only in emotional support and therapy, but also in connecting families with valuable community resources and advocating for children’s wellbeing across settings. LPCs and LCPCs specialize in mental health counseling, working closely with children and adolescents to address anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, social skills, and life changes. LCPCs have advanced clinical training that allows them to provide complex mental health treatment and guide families through more intensive needs.
When you choose Eyas Landing, you’re choosing a collaborative team that brings together specialized skill sets for a holistic approach to your child’s care. Our approach is built on empathy, trust, and a deep understanding of your child’s unique journey.

Eyas Landing utilizes the latest evidence-based practice to provide the best treatment for your child. A common modality in mental health therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is psychotherapy that has been shown to be effective in over 2,000 research studies. It is structured, present-oriented psychotherapy that helps individuals identify goals that are most important to them and overcome obstacles that get in the way (Beck Institute, 2019). CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.
