Compassionate ABA Therapy in Chicago

Applied Behavior Analysis

Neuroaffirming ABA that Honors Your Child.

No 40 Hour Requirement. Just Individualized Care.

Eyas Landing's premier outpatient pediatric therapy clinicAt Eyas, we practice Compassionate, Neuroaffirming ABA: a thoughtful, modern application of behavior analysis rooted in dignity, collaboration, and joyful learning. We deeply respect the science of ABA and its powerful ability to help children build meaningful skills. At the same time, we believe how ABA is delivered matters just as much as the strategies themselves.

If you’ve ever followed a recipe that didn’t turn out the way you expected, even when you followed every step correctly, you know how frustrating that can feel.

For some families, past experiences with ABA have felt that way. Structured plans, standardized protocols, or high hour recommendations may not always have aligned with their child’s unique personality, sensory needs, or learning style. While these models were often developed with good intentions, they don’t always reflect the individualized, relationship-centered approach families are looking for today.

We believe therapy should feel different.

ABA should feel like someone truly understands your child including their strengths, their communication, their motivations, and their needs. It should feel collaborative, responsive, and grounded in respect.

When ABA is delivered with compassion and flexibility, it doesn’t try to change who a child is. It helps them build skills, confidence, and independence in a way that honors who they already are

What Is Compassionate, Neuroaffirming ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis is the science of learning and behavior, and it has helped many children build meaningful skills. But anyone familiar with ABA knows that the way it’s practiced makes all the difference.

Some more traditional approaches placed a heavy emphasis on compliance or focused on reducing behaviors without fully understanding what was behind them. In some cases, therapy recommendations were based more on a standard model than on what a particular child actually needed. While these methods were often created with good intentions, they don’t always reflect the more individualized, respectful care families are seeking today.Child and therapist doing fine motor in Pediatric Therapy in Chicago

That isn’t the kind of ABA we believe in.

Our approach begins with the understanding that behavior is communication. We prioritize autonomy, emotional safety, and teaching skills that genuinely improve a child’s quality of life, including self-advocacy, regulation, and independence.

To us, ABA should feel less like a rigid set of drills and more like supportive coaching. A good coach learns a child’s strengths, builds trust first, adapts strategies when needed, and celebrates progress along the way.

That’s the kind of care we’re committed to providing every day.

For Parents Seeking ABA: Therapy That Fits Your Child.

Your child is not a checklist of behaviors. They are a whole person with preferences, sensory needs, emotions, humor, strengths, and dreams. Therapy happens in the home, clinics, schools and community settings.

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs):

  • Start with relationship first

  • Observe what motivates your child

  • Identify the meaning behind behaviors

  • Collaborate deeply with your family

  • Design therapy around real-life routines

How to Get Started with ABA Therapy?

Comprehensive ABA Evaluation & Ongoing Progress Monitoring

Your journey begins with a comprehensive ABA evaluation designed to understand your child’s strengths, communication style, sensory needs, and developmental goals.

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) complete:

  • Standardized assessments

  • Clinical observation

  • Parent interviews and input

  • Review of medical or school records when applicable

We believe parents are the experts on their child. Your insight is essential to building the right foundation.

Re-evaluations are completed every six months, or sooner if needed, to ensure therapy continues to reflect your child’s growth. We also collaborate with schools, physicians, and other providers to create a coordinated plan that supports meaningful, measurable progress.

Our goal isn’t just data collection, it’s building a roadmap that makes sense for your child and your family.

Individualized ABA Treatment Plan

No two children learn the same way and their therapy plans shouldn’t look the same either.

Your child’s ABA treatment plan is fully individualized and built around:

  • Their interests and motivations

  • Family priorities

  • Communication goals

  • Emotional regulation skills

  • Functional life skills

Goals are reviewed weekly, and families receive regular updates so you always know how therapy is progressing.

We focus on teaching skills that improve daily life, not just performance during sessions. Whether it’s smoother mornings, better peer interaction, increased independence, or self-advocacy skills, your plan is designed to create real-world success.

Therapy is flexible and responsive. If something isn’t working, we adjust. Growth should feel supportive, not rigid.
