Early Intervention is a program through the Illinois State Department of Human Services that provides supports and services for families to help their children ages 0-3 years old to meet their developmental milestones and participate within their family and community. This program serves children with developmental delays, and is helpful for children with Autism, Speech Delays, Torticollis, and other conditions.
Eyas Landing’s team works with families and Early Intervention Service Coordinators to help your child access necessary services to promote their development. Our services and supports are tailored to meet each child’s unique needs and goals. Eyas Landing Early Intervention therapists provide services in the home, at the clinic, in the daycare, and out in the community, the goal being the most naturalistic environment for the child to be able to generalize skills.
Early Intervention Target Areas Include:
- Physical: The development of a child’s gross and fine motor skills, including reaching, rolling, crawling, walking, and jumping.
- Cognitive: The development of a child’s learning, thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: The development of a child’s listening skills, talking and expression, and learning to understand others perspectives
- Social/Emotional: The development of a child’s sense of security, self-acceptance, play skills, sharing, and ability to interact with others.
- Self-Help: The development of a child’s eating and drinking skills, learning to dress themselves, bathe, brush their teeth, and potty train.
Treatment activities and skills targets are tailored to your child’s unique developmental needs, and our multi-disciplinary therapy team continually evaluates your child’s goals so we continue to strive for growth. Eyas Landing’s team of Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Developmental Therapists, Social Workers, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers are Early Intervention Credentialed and able to provide treatment for Early Intervention clientele.
