My Story

I decided to become a therapist because of my passion for mental health. When I entered undergrad, I thought that I wanted to be a forensic psychologist like Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs, but quickly realized how much schooling that would require. However, I took many courses during that time that introduced me to the complexities of the human brain- specifically the many different mental disorders. I was familiar with depression and anxiety, as I have personal experience with both, but I did not know much about other illnesses. The more I learned, the more it made me realize how much I wanted to help individuals who might be suffering from those illnesses.

My Professional Goals

  1. I would like to obtain my clinical license to become an LCSW.
  2. My long-term goal is to become a trauma therapist!

My Advocacy

I just ran the Chicago Marathon and raised over $5,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention! I am an ally and advocate for many organizations, but the AFSP holds a very special place in my heart.
