My Story

Creating genuine connections with every student and nurturing a deep-rooted enthusiasm for lifelong learning is my life’s passion. With a background in Elementary Education spanning diverse communities from Iowa to Uganda to Chicago, I’ve embraced a global perspective on fostering academic growth and emotional well-being. The ethos of Merlin Day Academy, with its inclusive multidisciplinary approach and nurturing environment tailored for students with special needs, resonates deeply with my values. I am committed to fostering an atmosphere of trust, respect, and compassion where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

My Professional Goals

My professional aspiration is to become a reliable member of the Merlin Day staff, collectively dedicated to realizing our students’ potential. I aspire to learn from our colleagues, the students entrusted to our care, their families, and the wider community. I plan on completing a Master’s Degree in Special Education, alongside additional training and certifications. My aim is to continually evolve and refine my skills, ensuring that I can provide the highest level of support and guidance to our students, fostering an environment where they can thrive and achieve their goals.

My Advocacy

For the past 10 years I have worked for and volunteered with The Sports Shed, a non profit whose mission is to gear up kids for a better future by providing sports related resources to schools and organizations on the South and West Side of Chicago who lack the funding for successful athletics. Their values are racial and economic equity, social justice, compassion for youth and community partners.
