My Story

As the child of first-generation immigrants, English was not my first language. This affected my ability to effectively communicate with others when I started attending school. However, despite the language barrier, I developed a love for books and literacy-based activities. Eventually, English/Language Arts became my strongest subject in school. When applying to colleges, I debated between English (my choice) and Nursing (my parents’ choice). My friend introduced me to Communication Disorders, which he believed was a balance between the two. I applied to several programs and officially started my journey at the University of Kansas. By the end of the program, I knew I loved working with individuals with disabilities, but I did not know if Speech-Language Pathology was for me. After graduation, I worked as a paraprofessional at a therapeutic day school, specifically in the elementary multi-needs classroom. This was the experience that ignited my fire for the field. I found my passion for helping individuals find their voices, in whichever modality that “voice” may be, and I haven’t turned back since!

My Eyas Landing

I am so excited to join the multidisciplinary team at Eyas Landing! I am happy to be part of a community in which I am both supported and challenged by my kiddos and team members.
