Professional Goals
- My goals are to amplify independence in communication by teaching literacy skills to AAC users, to support a neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic approach, and create functional goals that improve independence of life skills.
My Story
In fifth grade, I made friends with a boy with autism in my class. We became fast friends, going to get ice cream after school and six flags or movies on the weekends. When he first invited me to join his in school speech-language therapy sessions as a peer, I agreed because playing board games and talking sounded much better to me then learning science. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I in fact was learning. I was being trained as a communication partner. I was learning wait time, behavior management, and how to exaggerate my non-verbal cues. I continued to go with him to his speech-language therapy sessions from fifth grade until we graduated from New Trier High School in 2017. The progress my friend’s speech and language skills made were abundant. The 11-year-old boy who barely gave me a social greeting now is a 25-year-old man who texts me to say hello and gives me directions to the movie theater. I entered this field knowing just how much it can benefit lives, not only the client but also to their family and friends.

My Eyas Landing journey began last year as a therapeutic assistant for summer camp. I am so happy to re-join the team as a Speech-Language Pathologist CF.

Eyas Landing offers a wide range of comprehensive services including Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, ABA Therapy, Social Work, Family Therapy, and Neuropsych testing. Services are provided throughout the Chicagoland area via Telehealth, In-Home, and in our state of the art clinic.
