Speech Therapy Services for School-Aged Kids

Unlocking Your Child’s Voice, Confidence, and Connection

At Eyas Landing, we recognize that for school-aged children, strong communication skills are the key to confidence, friendship, and academic success. Many students find it challenging to participate in class discussions, make their needs known to teachers, or build and maintain friendships. Social nuances, classroom instructions, and group projects can feel overwhelming without the right support. Our evidence-based, relationship-driven speech therapy is designed to help children express themselves clearly, connect meaningfully with peers and educators, and grow their confidence in every setting.

More Than Just Words: A Comprehensive Approach

Communication is the foundation of almost everything your child does. It isn’t just about saying words clearly; it’s about understanding the world, expressing needs, and building relationships. When these skills are hard to master, it can lead to frustration for the whole family.

Our highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) look at the big picture. We collaborate across disciplines—working alongside occupational therapists, behavioral specialists, and your family—to create a treatment plan that fits your child’s life, not just a clinical checklist.

How Speech Therapy Helps Your Child Thrive

  • Reduce Frustration: We give children functional tools to express their wants and needs, significantly reducing behavioral outbursts caused by communication breakdowns.
  • Build Social Confidence: From making friends on the playground to understanding social cues, we help children navigate interactions with ease.
  • Enhance School Readiness: We build the foundational language skills necessary for reading, writing, and academic success.
  • Improve Feeding & Swallowing: Our therapists are trained to help children manage food textures and swallow safely, turning stressful mealtimes into positive family experiences.

Challenges We Address

You don’t need a medical degree to know when your child is struggling. Our team creates individualized plans to support children with a wide range of diagnoses and challenges, including:

  • Articulation Disorders: helping children produce clear sounds so they can be understood by others.
  • Receptive & Expressive Language Delays: bridging the gap between what a child understands and what they can say.
  • Childhood Apraxia of Speech: coordinating the complex muscle movements needed for speech.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): focusing on functional, authentic communication that honors your child’s unique perspective.
  • Social Communication Challenges: teaching the “unwritten rules” of conversation and interaction.
  • Fluency Disorders: supporting children who stutter to speak with confidence and ease.

The Power of School and Therapy Collaboration

“Wait and see” is a common phrase, but when schools and therapy teams work together, families don’t have to wait alone. Collaboration between educators and therapists ensures concerns are identified early and support is aligned across environments.

The early years are a critical period of brain development, and coordinated care can make a meaningful difference. When therapy goals complement what’s happening in the classroom, children build skills more effectively, develop positive learning habits, and feel supported both at school and at home.
