My Story

Hannah holds a Masters degree in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago and an undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. During graduate school, her concentration was in Mental Health and she completed her internship at Mercy Home For Boys and Girls, and The Pavilion Behavioral Health Hospital in Champaign, Illinois. This experience provided her with a deep understanding of trauma-informed care, and the stigma of mental health. Having worked effectively with adolescents with severe trauma in a residential setting, Hannah wanted to work with early-intervention, and a prevention based approach to provide foundations for children’s future success. Hannah spent 2 years learning and working with the DIR/Floortime model in a pediatric developmental therapy clinic working with children individually, in small groups, and their families. She is a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher through Corepower Yoga (CPY), and a Registered Yoga Teacher for Children through OmSliceYoga at Yogaview. She strives to integrate mindfulness, and yoga into her sessions to teach children coping strategies early on. The main takeaway Hannah hopes to attribute is making children feel safe, seen, and heard. She believes that positive relationships are the foundational blocks to supporting clients reach their fullest potential.
