My Story
I always knew I wanted to teach kids. My decision to become a therapist/admin was deeply influenced by my personal experiences. I have a cousin who is autistic, and we’ve had a great relationship since he was born that continues to this day. In high school, I also had great relationships with the special ed children and still do. When it was time to start applying for college, I thought about my career path on a deeper level and realized that working in the therapy field would be perfect for me because of my past experiences and my passion for the field.
My Eyas/Merlin
I recently had the opportunity to interview at Merlin Day Academy and was extremely impressed by the environment, staff, and students. The atmosphere felt very homey and welcoming, which made a positive impression on me. The staff were professional and approachable, and the students seemed engaged and well-supported. It struck me as a fantastic place for me to expand my career and knowledge in the field. I am excited about the potential to grow professionally and contribute to such a nurturing and dynamic environment.
My Professional Goals
My professional goals include gaining a deeper understanding of behavioral analysis techniques, achieving proficiency in implementing behavior intervention plans, enhancing my skills to better support clients’ rights and dignity, and possibly advancing my career by obtaining further certifications or credentials in the field.
My Advocacy
When it comes to advocacy, I am passionate about promoting ethical practices and supporting organizations that focus on client rights and dignity, especially within the field of behavior analysis. Some of the organizations that align with these values include the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). These organizations work to ensure high standards in behavior analysis and protect the rights of clients receiving behavioral services.
