My name is Tara and I am the new hire for School Liaison/ Interventionist at Eyas Landing. I am a recent transfer (officially been in Chicago 1 month-yay!) from Fort Lauderdale, FL where I was born and raised. I attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton for Undergraduate and received a B.A in Criminal Justice. I worked as a Pre-K teacher while I was completing my M.Ed in Elementary Education. After I graduated, I went to work for the Broward County Public Schools district at an IB World School. I have taught both Intermediate and Primary grade levels and received my certification in teaching and learning International Baccalaureate-Primary Years Programme. My favorite part of teaching is getting to form meaningful relationships with my students, being creative with strategies, and watching the “lightbulb” go off as students progress towards their learning goals. I am especially excited to get to provide small group intervention to under-served children in the Chicago area.
