Name the moment that inspired you to take your career path. One experience that inspired me to find a career in helping others was when I was in middle school and had a classmate with ASD. I had an opportunity to work with this individual for a class project. During the project, I incorporated an area of interest as much as possible for discussions and ideas. I observed the individual become really engaged, excited, and communicative throughout the activity, which I had never observed before. This made me realize that there is always a way to relate to someone if you take the time to understand them and who they are. It’s so fulfilling to work in a field where I can learn those interests while also applying therapy to help kiddos succeed.
What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?I consider my greatest accomplishment to be finding a career path that allows me to be fulfilled while also giving me an opportunity to make a difference in others’ lives.
What do you love most about working at Eyas Landing?I love the collectivist environment at Eyas Landing! Being a part of a multidisciplinary team allows for an abundance of education, advice, and the ability for anyone to lend a helping hand.
How has the supervision at Eyas Landing supported your professional growth? The supervision at Eyas Landing has not only provided me with opportunities to grow as a therapist, but has also given me opportunities to plan, discuss, and facilitate my future career goals.
Is there anything else you’d like to add about yourself?I love to be creative! As of right now, I am really into watercolor painting! I hope to try out making pottery soon!
