Where are you from?
Born and raised in Chicago, IL.
What did you study?
I attained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
As a college student, I was not the student who knew from middle or high school what I wanted to pursue as a major. It took two years in college of me trying different classes to recognize that psychology and working with children are my passions. I had worked with children for years in camps, church roles, nannying etc. but it never occurred to me that it would one day be my passion and career choice.
At UIC, I became so interested in my psychology classes that I decided to make it my major. A couple months in, I realized I wanted to focus on children, and was lucky to stumble across Eyas Landing’s internship program. Interning for a year, and learning from/observing some of city’s best therapists, I knew there was no other place I wanted to work. From reception to Behavior Therapy, I found exactly where I needed to be!
